Why screen recordings are so large
Duration, capture settings, resolution, frame rate, and scene detail affect a recording's size. This preset caps output at up to 1920px wide and 30fps and may reduce resolution or frame rate. A small size target can also blur text even when resolution is unchanged. Check important labels, code, and cursor movement before using the result.

- Long duration, high capture bitrate, high resolution, and frequent screen changes can all contribute. A lower bitrate or frame rate may reduce size, but there is no fixed percentage saving. Choose a target that leaves enough detail for the task and inspect the output.
- Will the text in my recording stay readable?
- Readability is not guaranteed. Lossy encoding can soften text, and this preset may downscale the picture or reduce the frame rate. Compare small text and scrolling at the intended viewing size with the original. Try a larger target or keep the original when important details are unclear.
